Don't Make Things - The Pleased
These
San Fran boys have made some big noises in the UK--no surprise, given the
anglophile tendencies displayed here. The vocals are unabashedly Bono, nestled
in layers of hooky Brit-Pop. Still, the real draw here is the fascinating
and jarring production--nothing sits quite where it ought to, flashing in
and out of the sonic space. Take out the headphones and grow into this.
